Helping out in New Orleans.

Staff members from the Aesthetic Dental Center of Kentucky, in Radcliff, traveled to New Orleans February 9th-12th to join volunteers in the largest medical and dental outreach in history. The outreach took place outdoors at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans. Tents were erected with mobile dental and medical equipment, to aid victims of the Katrina Hurricane.

The Mission of Mercy partnered with Remote Area Medical, Virginia Dental Association, and the New Orleans Health Department to orchestrate a project that drew volunteers from 38 states and 4 international providers.

Services offered were eye care, specialized women and pediatric medical care, counseling, general medicine, pharmaceuticals, social services, and dental care. Dental treatment was provided for over 3,500 people.
